January 23, 2010

Dear Brother and Sister in Christ of ABCD,

WELCOME to the 51st annual ABCD conference. I’m excited that you are here to be with us this year. We have exciting changes in store for us this year. The Executive Board and I have been working on something new. We are using a three years Master theme with each year having its own sub-theme. I want ABCD members and visitors to understand that we must begin do better job reaching the lost people who do not know Christ. So, we came up with this Master Theme: “It’s our time NOW!” WE will use 1 Corinthians 4:2 as our guide for the three years’ master theme. It says (in NIV translation) Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. So when we say “It’s our time NOW! That means we were given a responsibility to witness to the unsaved people about Christ. It is time NOW to go out. In 2010 theme, “Who are we? (Ephesians 4:1-16), we will learn about having unity in the Body of Christ. WE each have different spiritual gift(s) that God has given us to use in reaching others for Christ. WE will learn how we can be successful to understand our gifts. Then we can go out and witness to others in need. 2011 and 2012 theme will be announced during the weekend.

I am very excited about our guest leaders for the weekend. Our guest pastor, Duane Martin who comes from South Carolina, is a pastor at Midlands Deaf Church in West Columbia, South Carolina. He will preach Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning. Our guest music leader, Marsha Forer who hails from the great state of Texas, will lead us in music worship and teach workshop on music. Our guest workshop leader, Richie Noble, who is from Kentucky will teach workshop on our theme. I am very excited for our three guest leaders to share their knowledge and passion with each of you during the weekend!

Finally, I want to inform you that we do have several committee seats available to serve on. Please pray about this and ask God’s guidance about how you can serve God in ABCD. If you feel that God is calling you to serve on a committee, please see Vice-President Boyd Eggers. It is my desire to have every committee seat filled. If you have any questions throughout the weekend, please see any officers in the ABCD blue shirts (Friday-Saturday). It’s our time NOW!!

In Christ we serve,

Chadwick A. Fleming
